- St Magnus Cathedral - one of the finest medieval cathedrals in Britain, founded in 1137 in memory of the Norse Earl Magnus.
- Bishop's Palace - impressive ruined mid 12th century palace built for Bishop William the Old.
- Earl's Palace - a fine example of French renaissance architecture in Orkney, built by slave labour for the much hated Scottish Earl Patrick Stewart (Black Pattie) in 1600.
- Sheila Fleet Jewellery Workshop - come and watch the beautiful original designs being crafted, inspired by Sheila's passion for her island environment.
- Mine Howe - try to discover the mystery of the 29 steps.
- Scapa Flow- the final resting place of the German High Fleet in 1919, this magnificent natural anchorage was used by the Vikings and later sheltered the British Fleet in two World Wars.
- The Churchill Barriers - built in 1940s using Italian POWs as part of the labour force.
- Italian Chapel - built by Italian POWs during construction of the Churchill Barriers. Nissen huts disguise a beautiful and remarkable interior.
- Tomb of the Eagles- a magnificent stalled chambered tomb dating from 3,000 BC, named after the many eagles' claws found among the burials.
- Hoxa Tapestry Gallery- Unique large hand-woven tapestries inspired by the rhythm of life and the landscape of Orkney.
- Orkney Fossil & Heritage Centre - fantastic display of Orcadian & worldwide fossil fish over 300 million years old.
